"Network is the message"

Castell's suggestion that the 'Network is the message' is easily relatable to the belief found in the Bias of Communication based on the belief that the "medium is the message."This belief argues that the meaning of a message is easily determined by the way in which it was shared with the audience. For example, watching a movie based on a book may have a very different meaning than reading the book itself.

The Internet and networks have transformed the ways in which we communicate, and has thus transformed the message. Further, The Internet, "a global communication network's" use depends on the actions of the public. Netowrks have vastly changed the way the public communicates about the economy, politics, finances, etc. and consequently has determined a new message for the public to perceive.
